Best time for EBC riding
The best month of Motorbiking tour is from month or April till June and Month of September till November. The weather and temperature in these months are favorable and views of land and Himalayan ranges are much clear. Winter months December till February is not able to ride in the Tibetan highway due to ice and cold temperature. Summer season from month of July till August does not suggest to put your tour date. There are some part on the way possible to get land slide and block the road due to heavy rainfall. Month of March, the rules of Tibet is still not changed, they do not allow tourist to visit Tibet and does not issue any permission for month or March.
Hiring Motorbike
Nepal Highland Treks provide Motorbike Hiring services. The best motorbike for the Tibet Everest Base Camp tour is the Royal enfield classic 550cc OR Himalayan Royal Enfield. It may cost you USD 50 per day not including fuel on it. It also has the option to take other categories Motorbike like honda CRF. But do not expect to hire other brand motorbikes which are luxury in Nepal. Motorbike also need special permit to enter Tibet, so once we starts to apply all the permits, we should apply for perticular one we can not change motorbike after we applied. We normally should starts to prepare permit of motorbiking group before 45 days from your arrival day in Nepal.
Documentation
Tibet visa with entry permit of Motorbike is the main document on this tour. We need a passport scan copy and your international motorbike license to obtain a Tibet travel permit with your Motorbike. We also need your original passport and MRP size of the picture at Kathmandu Nepal for final visa approval. Find below other ideas about documentation.

- International driving license (In the same of Indian and Nepali normal licence works)
- Bike blue book pages, first till 5th pages (If you hire a bike from us we handle this work)

- Photograph of Bikes (clear photo of bike front and back can see the number plate and bike body) - If you hire a bike from us we handle this work
- Your picture for the visa (Digital picture, white background, MRP size) send by email and bring same picture
- Original passport once you arrive in Kathmandu (before 3 full working days)
- Custom deposit payment clip or any other documents provided by Nepali custom in the time of you enter Nepal from India through any border. This case is only for Indians who come with their bike in Nepal.

Accommodation in the trip during EBC motorbiking
Simple accommodations on local guest houses are available in Tingri and Rongbuk. That is for 3 nights. The rest of the places has the option to choose either basic accommodation in Hotel and Guesthouses or standard accommodation. Standard accommodation in Tibet part is up to 3-star category Hotels and guest houses. More than 3 stars hotels are only available in Kathmandu Nepal in this trip
Foods and drinks in the Tour
There are plenty of restaurants entire on this trip. Lunch and Dinner at extra cost from this package and you can easily buy it every place. Only basic Tibetan and Chinese styles of foods are available in Tingri and Rongbuk. Mineral water for drinking and other drinks is available in every stops.
Staffs
There will be a registered Tibetan guide for all the formalities in immigration inside Tibet. Additional Tibetan driver in backup transportation and one mechanic with his toolbox from Nepal. Backup transportation on the Nepal side will be Nepali vehicles with Nepali drivers. A riding guide to lead the tour will be also provided if our group size is 6 or more riders. If you are experience in this route to lead your own group, you also can skip riding guide. We reduce the cost accordingly.

3 working days is required for Tibetan visa in Nepal
Your stay in Nepal should be at least 3 full working days for a final Tibetan visa. It is before you start your trip. We need an original passport, one copy of the visa photo, and fill an embassy form (we provide you) with your details. At least a month ago, We need passport scan copy, your license copy and Motorbike blue book (If you are hiring with us, we will have this details with us) for Tibet travel permit, self-ride permit, and other formalities
You do not need to obtain a visa or any permits, we do look after every arrangement
Riding to Everest Base Camp Tibet need special permits. Chinese visa in your passport is not required. We do look after every arrangement. Tibet permit, Tibet Visa, Motorbike permit, Self-ridding permit, and immigration deposit are arranged by us. If you have any Chinese visa in your passport already, it cancels while we take your Tibet visa from the Chinese Embassy Kathmandu Nepal. Tour is leading by a professional government license holder our Tibet guide. He or she will look after immigration formalities, formalities in every checking point, and other arrangements.
NOC letter for Indian passport holders
Riders who are holding Indian passport need to issue NOC letter from Indian Embassy Kathmadnu to enter third country from Kathmadnu. For this purpose Indian passport holders need to arrive Kathmandu a day before. No need to present all the riders to Chinese visa center for Tibet entry visa. We will submit all the neccesary doucument.
Travel Tips for Tibet Motorbiking
Tibet is more controlled land. Foreigners are only allow to enter Tibet with registered agency and stay in the agency package. There should be Tibetan registered guide present in the every checking points to make sure visa, permits and other documents. Travelling Everest base camp with motorbike also have long procedure to take permission from tourism office. We can not replace other motorbike once we get permission for the one. It is about 45 days procedure to get permission. Tourist travelling to Tibet does not suggest to bring any books, magazine, pamphlet, flags or any other documents related Tibet and monks. Custom at the time of enter will check every small things including your mobile and other devices. Avoid any discussion about political and other related topics inside Tibet. Go as a tourist enjoy the scenic landscape, Himalayan rage, Tibetan village, peoples and cultures. Safe yourself from custom rejection to enter Tibet even after getting permits and visa. Alternate way to reach Everest Base Camp
There are two Everest base camp. South EBC is in Nepal part and trekking several days is the main way to reach since road access is not yet there. Another way to reach Everest Base Camp from Nepal site is by helicopter for those who can not manage to walk for several days in the altitude. The south part of EBC is more scenic with the help of surrounding other high Himalayas and great view point Kalapathar. Trekking Everest Base Camp is more famous in Nepal due to the easy access of Nepal visa and permits of the region. EBC north site is Tibet which can also visit by Jeep driving or trekking. Driving tour can starts from Lhasa the capital of Tibet and from Nepal too. Peoples who are not interesting to ride motorbike and not interesting to trek for several days, driving tour is another suitable option to experience Everest Base Camp. Everest base camp in Nepal site is in the altitude of 5360 meters and Tibet site is in 5200 meters. It is with road access till EBC from Tibet site but not in Nepal site.
