Manaslu and Tsum valley Trekking is combining of two restricted area Trekking in Nepal. It is remote and less crowded trekking area of Nepal. Tsum is newly opened trekking route has untouched Tibetan cultures with centuries old monasteries. Exploration of stunning view of Himalayas with several unnamed peak, Monasteries and Nunneries. The highest altitude we reach at Tsum Valley is 4,200 miters Ganesh Himal Base Camp. After trekking in Tsum valley, start trekking towards Manaslu. Himalayan views are more stunning in the area with marvelous and closed view of Mount Manaslu(8,163m), eighth highest mountain in the world. Path crosses big typical villages of different cultural peoples. It reaches at highest pass Larke La (5,213m) and down to Annapurna conservation area. Both trekking was camping trek in previous day. Now a day enough local tea houses have built as an accommodation. Same tea houses provide hygienic foods. Guide from Nepal Highland Treks choose best one within same categories gust houses.

Special restricted permits are applied for Tsum Valley and Manaslu separately. Beside that permits of Manaslu conservation and Annapurna conservation are also applied since trekking enter via Manaslu and end at Annapurna. We need minimum 2 pax to obtain trekking restricted area permit of Tsum and Manaslu. For single trekkers, Nepal Highland Treks can suggest to join our suitable group. Our 29 days trekking itinerary have one exploration day and another full rest day in Kathmandu. Itinerary is general one, we can provide you customized itinerary as per your timeframe and interest.

  • Day 02:Day in Kathmandu. Sightseeing and Trekking preparation. Overnight at hotel

    After your breakfast in Hotel, our tour guide lead you to major attraction of Kathmandu valley. we include 3 UNESCO heritage sites. Bhaktapur Durbar squire, Bauddhanath Stupa and Pashuatinath temple. come back to hotel and final preparation of trekking 

  • Day 03:Drive to Sotikhola via Arughat (8 hours - 700m) and Overnight at tea house

    After your early breakfast in Hotel, drive to Local Bus Park. Local bus drive to Sotikhola is about 8 hours. 3 hours drive with well paved road up to Dhading besi. Another 5 hours drive is through dusty on paved road. You have choice to take private Jeep to Sotikhola in this trekking. Driving route is via scenic green hills and mountain. cross unique Nepalese villages, rivers 

  • Day 04:Trek to Machhakhola Overnight at tea house (7 Hours – 900m) Overnight at tea house

    After your breakfast in Soti, start trekking to Machhakhola. Flat land trekking trail content at starting, we then enter Saal forest. It is hot inside the jungle and some of the trail goes serious uphill. The rough and rocky way reaches at Gurung village Lapu Besi. It will be suitable here for Lunch. Descend trail reach at high suspension bridge at the end of vilalge. Trail again goes keeps down and ups through bank of Budi Gandaki River and reach Machakhola 

  • Day 05:Trek to Jagat (6/7 Hrs 1410m) Overnight at Lodge

    We first enter our name and stamp in our Manaslu trekking permits in checking point at end of Jagat village. Beginning of trekking trail is climbing over rocky ridge reach at Salleri village. Than trail became easy and wide up to Ghatte Khola. Another step up hill reaches at Philim (A big gurung village). Leave another trekking trail of Tsum valley and cross bridge of Bugi Gandaki. Reach deng, A small village. 

  • Day 06:Trek Jagat to Philim (1600m, 4-5 hrs.). Overnight at tea house

    We first enter our name and stamp in our Manaslu trekking permits in checking point at end of Jagat village. Same checking post check Tsum valley restricted area permit too. Beginning of trekking trail is climbing over rocky ridge reach at Salleri village. Than trail became easy and wide up to Ghatte Khola. Another step up hill reaches at Philim (A big gurung village). Today is short trek to have rest your half day. Walking around at small village Phillim. 

  • Day 07:Trek Philim to Chumling (2310m, 6-7 hrs.). Overnight at tea house

    After your breakfast, start trekking to Chumling. We leave route of Manaslu trekking by taking trekking path toward Tsum valley after few minutes walking from Philim. Reach first village of Tsum Lokpa. Enter to dense forest and cross Tsum Khola bridge to reach Chumling. 

  • Day 08:Trek Chumling to Chokangparo (3010m, 4-5 hrs.). Overnight at tea house

    Trekking trail is almost all the way flat till base of Chhekangparo village. Than trail leads some serious uphill to reach Chhekamparo. This village is biggest village or the area having onlu home-stay type of accommodation. Exploration of local houses

  • Day 09:Trek Chokangparo to Nile (3360m, 5-6 hrs.). Overnight at tea house

    It is also a short trekking distance today. trekking trail is all flat land. we trek via Piren Gumba to visit oldes monastery of the area. Which story is with Millereppa. continue trekking to Nille village. This is last village of the area. A fresh Tsum Khola is in middle of village.

  • Day 10:Trek Nile to Mu Gompa (3700m, 3-4 hrs.). Overnight at tea house

    Very short uphills to Mu Gumba from Nile village. we wll have enough time to visit around the monastery. we also have option to visit a small Nunnery Dhephu Doma Gompa at to of station after serious hiking about 2 hours from Mu Gumba. Exploration evening chanting at Gumba performing by Lama. Mu Gumba is also a school of teaching Lama. 

  • Day 11:Morning exploration and Trek Mu Gompa to Rachen Gompa (3240m, 5-6 hrs.). Overnight at Gompa

    Very fresh morning to explore around here. you can see stunning Himalayas with early sunrise. You can view local yaks at their grass land next valley from here. After your breakfast, start trekking down to Rachen Gumba. Rachen Gumba is nunnery which is only of female lama. Exploration Gumba and overnight night at near. 

  • Day 12:Trek Rachen Gompa to Dumje (2460m, 6-7 hrs.). Overnight at tea house

    All the way trekking down to Dumje via same way. Village is at the side of corner not disturbance from any other part. There are only few houses and one local hospital. Overnight stay at one of the local house. Be prepare for next day serious uphill to Gumba Lungdang 

  • Day 13:Trek Dumje to Gumba Lungdang (5/6 Hours - 3,200m) Overnight at local

    simple house near GumpaWe have to cross almost 700 miter high today to reach Gumba Lungdang. Whole the trail today to do meet any settlement. it is trekking inside forest only. View of Buddha Himal is stunning from on the way. Guba Lungdang is oldest monastery of female lamas. One small but charming monastery lies in between all small houses. All those small houses are separate houses for nun. Overnight stay near at monastery 

  • Day 14:Trek to Ganesh Himal Base Camp (7 Hours - 4200m) Back to Gumba Lungdang for overnight

    Early in the morning start trekking to reach Ganesh Himala base camp. It is neccesory to take some dry foods as lunch and enough drinking water. After crossing big forest part cross a River flow from Ganesh Himal. reach at less vegetation area of the base camp. Explore huge mountain very near from you which are all the panoramic Ganesh Himal. Trek back to Gumba Lungdang for overnight 

  • Day 15:Trek Gumba Lungdang to Ripchet (7 Hours - 2300m) Overnight at local tea house

    Same way trekking down to Dumje and take different way to reach Ripchet. Another local big village of the area. After serious downhill, trek than leads almost all flat land inside jungle. Beautiful waterfall on the way is picturesque place. 

  • Day 16:Trek Ripchet to Deng(1800m, 7-8 hrs). Overnight at local tea house

    We leave tsum valley section and enter at Manaslu today. Easy trek back to Lokpa. Trek down till route of Manaslu and Tsum valley. Take solo route of Manaslu and cross bridge of Budi Gandaki. Reach deng, A small village. 

  • Day 17:Trek to Namrung (6/7 Hrs 2630m) Overnight at Lodge

    Trekking trail passes through small Buddhist village and long Mani walls. When we reach Pork village, Siringi Himal view beautifully. Minor climbing trekking path become less forest but trekking trail is wider. Reach Namrung village. Namrung village is good viewpoint for Siringi and Ganehs Himal 

  • Day 18:Trek to Samagaon (6/7 Hrs – 3,530m) Overnight at lodge

    Cross beautiful and small Tamang villages with excellent view of Mount Manaslu, Himal Chuli and Peak 29 (Ngadi Chuli) and large glaciers. After crossing Lihi, Lho, Syala and Sama we reach at big village Samagaon. This is village is entrance of Manaslu, where we stay another day to make acclimatization and exploration at surroundings 

  • Day 19:Day rest at Sama Gaun. Explore local village, Monasteries and Manaslu Glacier

    Today is good chance to explore big Sherpa village and their lifestyle. Memorial Chortern and monasteries around the village is most beautiful during hiking. Have another option to reach Manaslu Base Camp, which is quite tough walking uphill. Base camp is 1400 miter more altitude from Samagaon. 

  • Day 20:Trek to Samdo (4/5 Hrs 3690m) Overnight at Lodge

    Our trekking trails at first descend to the Budi Gandaki River. Then minor climbing start on barren dry valley overlooking views of snow capped peaks. Crossing several Mani walls before Samdo. Samdo is the last settlement of remote Manaslu region. Village is near from Tibet boarder. Peoples from this village is trading most of their goods and foods from Tibet. 

  • Day 21:Stay at Samdo for acclimatization and activities. Overnight at lodge

    It is good help to take one day extra here to get more fit before you climb Larke Pass. Hiking around the hills is normal plan today. Hike to Nepal Tibet boarder and come back to Samdo is highly recommended. 

  • Day 22:Trek to Dharamsala / Larke Phedi (4/5 Hrs 4460m) Overnight at Lodge

    Short walk today rich base of Larke Pass, Dharmasala. Crossing river and heading towards more dry and barren valley. High altitude walking with few ups and down trail may make difficult in less air. 

  • Day 23:Cross Larke Pass (5213m) and trek to Bimtang (8/9 Hrs 3590m) Overnight at Lodge

    Get ready from very early morning to start strenuous climb of Larke La pass. Trekking tour including steep up, towards frozen glaciers. Trekking path sometime quite hard with sleepy ice, in that condition our guide fix path with the help of Ice axe. Reach at top of Larke, Wonderful view of Mountain and glacier. After spending memorial time at top, descend to Bhimtang. Manaslu restricted area finish from here. 

  • Day 24:Trek down to Tilije (6/7 Hrs 2300m) Overnight at Lodge

    Altitude descends almost by 1300miter today from Bimtang. We feel warmer while trekking inside jungle. After walking about 3 hours, we reach Karche village, taking lunch here is suitable. Finally reach at Tilje after walking again inside jungle. Tilje is beautiful Gurung village at Manang (Annapurna) region. 

  • Day 25:Trek to Tal (6/7 Hrs 1680m) Overnight at Lodge

    An easy day hiking inside Annapurna conservation area today. We reach at Dharapani which is last tourist checking point of the trek. You meet more trekkers since we meet trekking route of Annapurna circuit. Trail then follow with Marshyangdi River and reach at Tal. Tal is biggest village of the area. 

  • Day 26:Trek to Syanje (6/7 Hrs 1150m) Overnight at Lodge

    After breakfast, start trekking downhill following our trail to Chyamje village. The wider valley with its terrace field and other small villages. Trekking inside Pine and Rhododendron forest reach Syange village today. 

  • Day 27:Drive back to Kathmandu and overnight at Hotel

    After our breakfast, we take local jeep drive to Besisahar. driving through beautiful village and Mountain landscape. reach at Besisahar might change our transportation to Kathmandu. For your comfortable, we advice you to drive with private car. Reach Kathmandu by late afternoon and transfer to hotel. 

  • Day 28:Extra day in Kathmandu. Shopping and Rest. Farewell dinner in Nepali cultural Restaurant

    Extra day in Kathmandu is for rest after long adventure activities. You can utilize this time to make walking tour around, shopping or take other activities. At the evening Nepal Highland Treks invite you successful trekking farewel dinner at cultural Nepali restaurant. 

  • Day 29:Transfer to International Airport for your finale departure

    Drop you to International airport for your final departure. You normally have to be at airport 3 hours before than your flight time

Useful Information

Foods during Trekking
Our package during trekking is full board. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is served by local restaurant of local tea houses. Food menu is available in every restaurant of tea house and food prices are fixed by conservation area project. Every tea houses provide hygienic local and international foods. There are varieties of choices of western and Asian foods dishes or a mixture of on the way. It is suggest eating at same tea houses where you stay. Vegetarian foods are suggested to take during trekking in high atitude and remote area. Some of the trekking trails are not allow to scarify animals, Chicken so that meet items are carried from long way taking more than a day. It is definitely not fresh. You may get stomach problem with verities of non veg foods. The typical food on Nepal is called Dal Bhat. Which are items of rice, lentil, mixed vegetable curry and pickle.

Drinks including water
Drinking water  is normally bottled mineral water in main cities. While you are trekking in the Himalaya bottled, boiled and filtered or purification drinking water is available from local guest houses. Drinking water is extra pay not including in your trekking package. As you hike up at altitude water cost rise. Only boiled and filtered water will be available at those places. It is require bringing your own water bottle for both cold water and hot water, so that you can refill it from local guest houses. It is suggest drinking at least 3 litter water per day.

Accommodation
Accommodation during your Trekking in Nepal is in hotels and guest houses. Package of Nepal highland treks is including 3 star category hotels in Kathmandu and local guest houses on the way of trekking. Clients have option to upgrade accommodation to 4 or 5 star hotels or make simple hotels to make your cost lesser from our offer. Guest houses on the way of Manaslu Tsum valley is named as local tea houses owned by local peoples. Same categories of tea houses are available in every night stops although some high places for 3 to 4 nights are very basic guest house or Gumba.S

Staffs
There will be professional trekking guide speaking English fro your entire trekking. One porter to carry your both bags. They are regular trekking staff of Nepal highland treks covering emergency evacuation, insurance too. The trip cost also including their foods, accommodation and equipment.

Down Jacket
You need warm down jacket for trekking in Nepal. You do not need to bring down jacket from your own country. Good down jacket is available in Kathmandu with reasonable cost or you also can take it in hire. You might not need down jacket in your short trekking and tours.  

Shoes
You need good trekking shoes for trekking in high altitude. Water proof shoes in required in those trekking.  You also need another warm and light shoe for using in morning and evening time while you are at lodge.

Bags
You need two bags for Trekking and long tours. One small back pack is keeping always with you and keeps your valuable goods. This bag is for day using goods and necessary. 
Big duffel bag or back carry bag goes to your porter in trekking. This bag is to keep your goods which you only get at evening in your lodge. Again next morning handover it to our porter. = Nepal Highland Treks provide this bag.    

Medicine
If you are taking regular medicine and a simple medicine you may need in Trekking and tours. Guide from Nepal Highland Treks will have basic medicines in his/her medical kit bag.
