Climbing Peaks in Nepal for Beginners

Peak Climbing in Nepal is climbing Himalayan peaks which are below 7000 miters. Among them, some are technical climbing peaks and some are suitable for beginners. There are more than 10 Himalayan peaks which are listed as climbing peak in Nepal. Most of the peaks are in the Everest region, secondly at Annapurna and Langtang region too. The peaks which are allowed to climb from the government have to obtain a climbing permit from Nepal Mountaineering Association.

Here we are introducing you 3 easy climbing peaks which are suitable for beginners. Those are Island Peak, Mera Peak, and Yala peak. Although these peaks are listed as easy climbing peaks in Nepal, it does not mean that the itinerary is shorter, no need any climbing equipment, and physically fit. Previous climbing experience is not required but you have to have physically fit and have done some adventure activities before. Still need climbing equipment like ice axe, crampons, and fix the rope.  The Summit of the peaks only reaches after many days trekking.

01. Island Peak Climbingis the suitable one for beginners: Island peak also called Imja Tse at Khumbu/Everest Region after Chhukung valley is 6,189 meters altitude. The major climbing day is just a day but you have to get a preparation climbing course at be base camp is an island. The climbing is not a just walk up, it still requires good body stamina; fix the rope, use of climbing equipment. It is about 9 hours climbing ups and down from base camp. Summit of Island peak provides pleasant views of the highest mountains of the Everest region. Before reaching to Island Peak, it is suggested to have good acclimatization on the way. Itinerary can include first to reach Everest Base Camp, climb Kalapathar (5550m) so that it is fit to have success climb of Island Peak. 02. Yala Peak Climbing: The easy trekking peak in Langtang national park, Yala peak is the magnificent peak of 5,637 miters. It is also one of the non-technical peaks in the Nepal Himalaya. Is it more suitable for beginners’ climber? Climbing does not need any previous climbing experience, only physically fit is needed. Comparatively, with others, this is short days itinerary via Shyaprubesi, Lama Hotel, Langtang, and Kyanjin Gumba. 03. Mera Peak Climbing: Famous as Nepal’s highest trekking peak (6,476 m), Mera is actually a collection of three separate peaks in the Everest / Khumbu region. The journey to the peak, passing through lush rhododendron forests and mystic Himalayan villages is as magnificent as the climb itself. However, nothing beats the view from Mera peak, with three of the highest mountains on Earth. The Cho Oyu (8,201m), the Lhotse (8,516m), and the Everest (8,848m). The trekking trail to reach Mera have to cross several high passes. Mera peak is less accessible than Island peak and the route to the mountain, therefore, gives a slightly more expedition kind of feeling. The climb is less technical than the Island peak. Special Notes about Peak Climbing in Nepal

All these three trekking peaks are in group B category from Nepal Mountaineering Association along with other 12 climbing peaks. NMA has changed their climbing fee structure as per seasons.
