High-altitude running and Physical fitness for the EBC Running Tour

Running to Everest Base Camp involves high altitude and challenging terrain. Flying from Kathmandu (1400 meters) to land at 2860 meters within an hour time is hard to adjust. On the first day running reach Namche at the altitude of 3440 meters. This is 2000 meters gaining altitude in a single day. Your previous experience should be trekking or walking to a high altitude. There is an option to start running from a low altitude instead of directly flying to Lukla, can start from Salleri which is a low altitude region, or the low land of Khumbu region which is the old trekking path to EBC before Lukla airport. From Sallri running start and reaching the regular trekking path already adjust your body in the Himalayan weather. Even nowadays numerous trekkers are doing regular trekking through this route, who want to skip the Lukla flight in their Everest Base Camp trekking.
