    Everest base camp trekking without flying to Lukla is 18 days program including arrival and departure days. Drive with jeep to Salleri further to Thandanda and trek to main trekking route of EBC (Phakding) through unexplored section of Knumbu region. Driving and Trekking to Everest Base Camp 

8 hours driving road to Salleri from Kathmandu is mixed of well paved and gravel. We will provide you comfortable 4wheel jeep. Another driving for 6 hour is from Salleri to Thandanda which we take local jeep and driving road is entirely rough. Unique trekking trail from last point of jeep station to Phakding can expect beautiful landscape with drop of Himalayan views. Typical Sherpa and Rai communities are well settled in this region. Exploring their simple life style, their daily works and their unique cultures are feels different than regular trekking route of Everest. It also help to make your body fit in acclimatization before reaching Phakding and Namche which are trekking towns more than 2600 miters altitude. Two days of acclimatization (Namche and Dingboche) helps to fill power in your body reaching easily Everest Base Camp (5364m) and climb Kalapathar (5,545m). Trekking return same way back to Phakding than to Thandanda. Drive back to Kathmandu again same way by comfortable jeep. You will not reach Lukla airport. To book this trip, we need your passport copy by email and trip confirmation amount of USD 150 per person. You can pay us trip confirmation amount by bank transfer, by the online credit card system. Rest of the payment can made after your arrival in Kathmandu. Paying by credit card, bank transfer or cash.  

Cancellation policy
Free cancellation if you cancel your trip 2 months before your trip starts. USD 150 per person is the cancellation charge if you cancel your trip after 2 months' time. You have option to transfer your advance amount for next trip or replace it for another friend.

What is the best time for the Everest Base Camp trek?
The best time to trek to the Everest Base Camp is in Spring (month of March to Mid June) and Autumn (month of September to November). The temperature during this season in the EBC region is moderate and amazing views throughout the trip. Sunny days, clear sky, and less chance of ice fall is in these months. Although this trek can be planned during winter. Hotels accommodation and trekking route still be opened during winter (month of December till Feb) 

How hard to trek Everest Base Camp?
Trek to the Everest Base Camp is one of the exhilarating experiences one can have in their life. It is an uneven trail with snow-capped mountains in the background. Why trek Everest Base Camp trekking without a flight?
Flight to Lukla is to fly remote area and altitude land. Flights are operating only from Kathmandu. Only tiny aircraft fit a maximum of 16 peoples at a time. 35 minutes flight operate morning time before Lukla gets windy and cloudy. Since Lukla is in the mountain area, flying there is through the narrow valley has a high chance to canceled during bad weather. For this reason, your original plan might disturb you. Another reason to select trek without flight is to explore the lower part of the Everest region which is untouched landscape and cultural settlement. 

What is the accommodation facility in the Everest Base Camp Trek region?
Entire EBC trekking is facilitated with local hotels which are neat and clean tourist standard accommodation. There is the same category of tea houses in the entire region. Namche, Phakding, and Lukla also have deluxe types of hotels. Hotels are till EBC (Gorakhshep). Rooms are twin sharing based in our service. Near at EBC Gorakhshep and in Lobuche room can be shared for 3/4 peoples at the time of trekkers flow during the main trekking season.

How many trekkers need to trek Everest Base Camp without Lukla flight?
Everest Base Camp trek can operate with any number. Even one trekker or 100, we Nepal highland treks team ready to operate this trek. A very suitable trekking team is 4 peoples which are suitable sharing cost of Jeep from Kathmandu to the trekking starting point and back.    

How to issue an Everest Base Camp trekking permit?
There are two kinds of trekking permits for EBC. both permits can issue directly on the way to the checking point. The mail trekking permit checking point is in Jorsalle before Namche.  Everest National park permit cost is Nepali rupees 3000 for foreigners and another permit (TIMS/ Local permit) cost rupees 2000 per person. Permit cost for India is 1500 only. Passport details are required while issuing permits.

Day 1Arrive at Kathmandu (Tribhuban International Airport) and transfer to the Hotel. Preparation of trekking and overnightRepresentative from Nepal highland Treks greet you in international airport. Your hotel for the airport is about 7 kilometers takes 20 minutes driving. Check in the room and rest. Stay in briefing with Nepal highland treks team including your guide. Final preparation of the trip, check your trekking equipment with the help of your guide. Entire trekking equipment are available to buy in Kathmandu in case of any trekking equipment need to buy here.

Day 2Drive Kathmandu to Salleri (266 km - 8 Hours) Overnight at local lodgeStart driving to Salleri after your breakfast in Hotel. Drive through scenic road starts from Dhulikhel, Khurkot Ghurmi, and various settlement of different cast group of Nepal. Driving road is with beautiful Pine, Rhododendron forest, magnificent George, mountain ranges and Rivers. Salleri is headquarter of Solukhumbu district where you will get quite nice comfortable accommodation.

Day 3Drive Salleri to Thandanda (6 Hours) entirely rough road. we overnight at simple local lodgeFrom Sallery, newly build rough road take us to Thandanda. It is 6 hours of driving. we stay overnight in Thandanda. There are only a simple local lodge available. We introduce our porter today.

Day 4Trek to Phakding (5/6 Hours – 2652m) overnight at local guest house Our trek meet today the regular trekking trail starting from Lukla after flying from Kathmandu. Easy trekking trail goes till Surke. Gradually ups trail to Chaurikharka, Chhepung, Nurning and to Phakding. The impressive view of Kusum Kangaru, Buddhist village with mani walls makes trail impressive. Phakding have various lodges for trekkers where you will find nice suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River

Day 5Trek to Namche Bazar (3,440m) 6/7 Hours. Overnight at tea house After your breakfast start trekking to Namche Bazar (Biggest town in Everest region). We pass big suspension bring at the beginning. Than our trail become slightly up hills. Route is passing through alpine forest along with Dudhkoshi River. We also pass Benkar village, Monjo village and jorsalle on the way. After having our lunch, we start tough up hills walking and reach Namche.

Day 6Acclimatization and rest at Namche. Hike to Everest view hotel (3,880m) and back to Namche for overnight It is acclimatization day and we take hiking tour around. Hike to Everest view hotel and Khumjung village. Visit local monasteries and Hillary school. It is pleasant day to have your lunch at Khumjung village with front view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Amadablam and others. Come back to Namche. Walking around in Namche get more refresh

Day 7Trek to Tengboche (3,860m) 5/6 hours. Overnight at tea house We trek an easy way with front view of panoramic mountain up to Phunki Thanga, small River side village. From here, trekking route start to be up hills. It contains some of the major ascend toward Tengboche. Tengboche is famous with Tengboche monastery and it is one of the largest monastery in Everest region. Monastery open from 3 pm and it is good visit at their evening chanting by lamas

Day 8Trek to Dingboche (4,410m) 5/6 hours. Overnight at tea house Trekking through Rhododendron forest reach at Deboche village. After Diboche valley reach at Pangboche village which is having biggest settlement of Sherpa peoples. We still have good view of Mount Everest, Lhotse and Amadablam. Trekking trail than follow through upper Pangboche for exploring an oldest pangboche monastery. After walking some minor ascends, we can see picturesque village of Dingboche with beautiful potato fields.

Day 9Acclimatization in Dingboche. Hiking around and overnight It is good to have acclimatized here before you reach at Everest Base Camp. Instead of staying inactively, we make hiking around the valley. We climb up behind the valley. It is good view of some 8000 miter Himalayas and several other climbing peaks. Instead of hiking long, we back to lodge and take rest for tomorrow’s ascent.

Day 10Trek to Lobuche (4,910m) 4/5 hours. Overnight at tea house It is short hiking at high altitude. We start after your breakfast in Dingboche. After walking around three hours in wide valley we reach at Duglha. You’re walking than reach some tough ascending. You may feel hard to breathe as it is thinner air in high altitude. You will reach Lobuche. Lobushe is small settlement with fewer tea houses only. You have to be prepared with chilly night.

Day 11Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,360) and back to Gorakhshep (5,180m) for overnight. 7/8 hoursDay of reaching at base camp of highest peak of the earth, you are at the day of reaching your dream. It is better to start trekking as earlier as possible after your breakfast. The trekking trail to Everest Base Camp is not hard but it is continuously ascending and descending at glacier rocky trail. Everest base Camp is extremely beautiful. Panaromic Mountains including Everest is surroundings. We will come up to near from Khumbu Glacier and see icefall from slopes of Mount Everest. We than come back to Gorakhshep for our overnight

Day 12Climb Kalapathar at early in the morning (5,545m) and trek down to Pheriche (4210m) 7 hours. Overnight at tea house We prepare with our small bag with hot drinking water and some nuts. It is about one and half hours climbing. When we start, it is dark and chilly. Get sunrise view and panoramic mountain views which is probably the best view ever in this trekking. We come down to Gorakhshep and have breakfast. Hike back to Pheriche for overnight

Day 13Trek to Namche (3410m) 6/7 hours. Overnight at tea house All the way down hill from Pheriche to Phunki Thanga. We can choose either Tengboche or Phunki thanga for our lunch. Small ascend involve after phunki Thanga to the top. Again an hour downhill reach Namche. You can feel more relax at Namche having nice walking soundings. Namche is having some of the goods cafes, shops and restaurants

Day 14Trek to Surke (6 Hours) and overnight in local lodge Trekking in the same route up to Manjo. Walk toward Phakding and trek down to Surke. After Phakding, you find other trekkers hardly. It is to way of catching our driving route back to Kathmandu. We overnight in simple local tea house here in Surke

Day 15Trek to Thandanda (3 Hours) and drive to Salleri (6 Hours) Easy trekking down to Thandanda. We say good bye to our porter and driving 3 hours with local jeep with guide. Salleri is another simple place to overnight in local tea house tonight.

Day 16Drive back to Kathmandu (8Hours) and transfer to the Hotel Drive back to Kathmandu today. It is 8 hours same way driving back with lots of stop on the way. Reach at Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel for overnight

Day 17Day in Kathmandu. Rest after long days trekking Extra day in Kathmandu to get rest after long days of trekking. You have option to choose some memorial visiting is heritage sites inside Kathmandu valley. There are interesting biggest Hindu temples, oldest palace, Buddhist stupas.

Day 18Departure We drop to International airport for your final departure. It is important to reach there 3 hours before from your flight time. It is about 30 minutes driving from main touristic town of Kathmandu.

Nepal Visa
Visa for Nepal can be obtain on arrival. USD 50 per person for a month multiple visa. As your trekking itinerary is 20 days, you should take minimum 30 days visa. You also can apply Nepal visa online which will avoid long queue to take visa on arrival in Nepal airport. Do visit link for your online visa. Make sure online application is only valid for 15 days. So fill online Nepali visa form just before 15 days counting your arrival in Nepal.
