    One of the short days and easy trekking in Nepal, Gorepani Poonhill Trekking provide the best sunrise and view of the snowy rugged Himalayas range. Ghorepani (2,860m) village itself is surrounded by snow peaks of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, and Fishtail (Machhapuchhre). A short climb to Poonhill (3.210m) from Ghorepani gives you a closer view of the massive Himalayas. Explore typical villages including Ghandruk village with its best view of old houses, their cultures, and customs. Every day 5 to 7 hours of walking to reach a maximum height of 3210 meters altitude. The Himalayas and beautiful greenery views give you totally surrender to Nature.  

    Gorepani Poonhill Trek takes a minimum of 3 days either starting from Pokhara or from Kathmandu. Our 9 days itinerary includes sightseeing in Kathmandu and in Pokhara. 5 days of trekking is added by Tadapani and Ghandruk village which are still at low altitude region in Annapurna. Trekking also is through dense forests, Wildlife, Typical villages, Ethnic peoples, and terrace fields. Every day of your walking is delightful.        

    Ghorepani Trek can make around the year. Previous experience in trekking or hiking is not required. Local tea houses provide tourist standard accommodations and delicious foods on the entire route. There are almost the same categories of tea houses a guide from Nepal Highland Treks chooses the best available accommodation every day.   

    You also can add some other activities to the itinerary. Bungee jumping and Paragliding in Pokhara. Mountain flight from Kathmandu and Rafting in Trisuli River on the way of your driving. The birth place of Buddha, Lumbini is another 7 hour driving from Pokhara. You also can add Chitawan Jungle safari for a wildlife experience, Bandipur village to explore the typical village at the top of the valley.

    • Day 01:Arrival at TIA airport of Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel and Overnight 1350m
    • Day 02:Drive to Pokhara (6/7 Hours) 827m. Overnight at Hotel
    • Day 03:Drive to Nayapool and Trek to Ulleri (7 Hours - 1960m) Overnight at tea house
    • Day 04:Trek to Ghodepani (4 hours - 2860m). Overnight at tea house
    • Day 05:Morning hike to Poonhill (3210m) and trek to Tadapani (6 Hours - 2500m) overnight at tea house
    • Day 06:Trek to Ghandruk (5/6 Hours - 1950) overnight at Hotel
    • Day 07:Trek back to Nayapool and drive to Pokhara (6 Hours). Overnight at Hotel
    • Day 08:Fly to Kathmandu at morning and Sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel

    • Day 01:Arrival at TIA airport of Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel and Overnight 1350m

      Representative from Nepal Highland Treks pickup you from international airport and transfer to Hotel at Thamel, Touristic hub of Kathmandu. Talk about trip, introduction with your guide and final preparation. 

    • Day 02:Drive to Pokhara (6/7 Hours) 827m. Overnight at Hotel

      We drive with private car to Pokhara after your breakfast in hotel. Reach Pokhara at mid day and get some sightseeing after checking your Hotel. Boating at Fewa lake and visit Talbarahi temple at middle of Lake, International mountain museum, David falls and Gupteswor cave. 

    • Day 03:Drive to Nayapool and Trek to Ulleri (7 Hours - 1960m) Overnight at tea house

      Drive 1 and half hour to Nayapool, start trekking for 5 hours through river, local villages and forest. It is flat and easy walking till Tikkhedhunga (1540m). Than our walking reach to one of the tough uphill towards Ulleri (1960m). Annapurna South and Himchuli view just spectacular from here. Check in local tea house. 

    • Day 04:Trek to Ghodepani (4 hours - 2860m). Overnight at tea house

      Ulleri its self is magnificent view of Annapurna South and Himchuli. Our walking about one hour through Ulleri and Banthanti village. We than enter very dick forest where we can see some beautiful waterfall. We reach Ghorepani (2860m) by our lunch time. Take your lunch at local tea house. It is depending on us, we might walk to Poonhill (3210m) to view sunset with and panoramic Himalayas. 

    • Day 05:Morning hike to Poonhill (3210m) and trek to Tadapani (6 Hours - 2500m) overnight at tea house

      We again can hike to Poonhill early in the morning. From here you will see a superb view of the sunrise and a panoramic view of the Himalaya, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others. After visiting Poonhill, we will come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani 

    • Day 06:Trek to Ghandruk (5/6 Hours - 1950) overnight at Hotel

      Comparatively, today is the easiest trek of all days. Trek through the forests of Rhododendron and oak. This section is rich in Bird. Reach Ghandruk which is a big Gurung village. There is a handicraft center and Gurung museum. From this village you could observe good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail. In the evening, typical Gurung Cultural program may organized on demand.

    • Day 07:Trek back to Nayapool and drive to Pokhara (6 Hours). Overnight at Hotel

      Trekking downhill to Birethanti and continue to Nayapool. Our trek end here. drive to Pokhara with our car and check in Hotel. Walking around Lake side of Pokhara. We also can include some sightseeing if we have not finish it before. 

    • Day 08:Fly to Kathmandu at morning and Sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel

      After your breakfast in Hotel, drive to Pokhara airport and fly to Kathmandu. it is 25 minutes flight with magnificent view of Himalayas, forest, villages, hills and Terrance field. Start your sightseeing. Bauddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhunath (Monkey temple) and Kathmandu durbar squire. Evening farewell dinner with team of Nepal Highland Treks in cultural Nepali restaurant 

    • Day 09:Departure

      Free till departure time. Drive to international airport for your final departure

    Price & Availability

    Ghorepani Pooh HIll trek also known as lower Annapur trekking is easy trekking for 5 days. Including arrival departure days, Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Travelling to Pokhara from Kathmandu and back it is good 9 days plan. Nepal Highland Treks can arrange this trek through out the year although good season is March to May and September to December. You can choose any date as per your suitable. It is not really need to join our group. 

    Useful Information

    Accommodation in the trip
    Our package is including 4 nights hotel in Kathmandu, Pokhara. It is 3 star category hotels with breakfast and twin sharing. Accommodation in entire trekking is in local tea houses (Local guest house) on twin sharing. You will get simple rooms with inside toilet. Ghorepani poonhill region may have over flow of trekkers in peak season.

    Foods in the trip
    Kathmandu and Pokhara has lots of restaurants to choose for your Lunch and Dinner. Breakfast is including in the package that is provided by same hotel you are staying. During your trekking, same tea houses you are going to stay provide you breakfast and Dinner. Lunch is on the way at suitable place. All the foods during trekking is including in the packages. Hotel and restaurants provide you international standard foods in entire Trekking. You can choose food items from menu. 

    Guide and Porter
    Your guide to the Trekking is from Kathmandu. They are the one who will be our regular guide more responsible, friendly, and helpful English speaking. You will meet them in Kathmandu before starting your trek. Usually there will be 1 porter for every two trekkers. He is able to carry total 25 kilogram. Both guide and porters are fully equipped, insured and package including their foods, accommodation on the way. Trekking guides are those who can communicate with you and local peoples and having enough knowledge of local places, peoples, their cultures and having knowledge of high altitude sickness.

    Drinking Water during Trekking
    Drinking water is extra cost from package. During the trek it is available bottled mineral water, boiled water fill in your own bottle from every tea houses or can use even normal water from Tap. Bottled mineral water is available in every guest houses, shops in entire Trekking. As you hike high altitude, cost of bottled mineral water and boil filtered water increase. Water from local taps can be also used as drinking water by purification with purification tablet and filter it yourself. Most of the trekkers are drinking bottled mineral water and boiled filtered water. Trekkers are using local tap water rarely.  

    Equipment list
    You do not need much trekking equipment in this trekking. Entire trekking during the day is in hot temperature. Only 2 nights at Ghorepani and Tadapani get cold. Need to bring both types of clothes for cold and hot. Necessary equipment are not compulsory bring from your homeland. You can buy it in Kathmandu too. Our itinerary has enough time to be prepared with your proper equipment.

    First Aid Kit Medicines 
    In every trekking package, our guide will carry first aid kit box containing medicines of anti altitude, anti Diarrhea, pain relief, Antibiotic, anti cold, anti vomiting, anti headache, fever, bandages, handplast and anti septic lotion . If you are taking any regular medicine that is compulsory to bring yourself.

    Some Dos and Dont’s during Ghorpani Poonhill Trekking
    Trekking route of Annapurna Ghorepani Poonhill is exotic land with different cultural settlement. Treat the land and local peoples with care and respect.  Try your best to keep environment clean and show appreciation for culture and traditional religious beliefs.
    Make Annapurna region litter free: Do not through any litter; put it in dustbin fixed by national park or in local tea houses. Sanitary napkins and tampons should be wrapped properly and through it right place. Take batteries back to your home country for safe disposal or reuse.   
    Respect local cultures, custom and peoples: Route of Ghorepani Poonhill is combination of different cultural ethnic group of local peoples. Their culture, customs, living style and any function is typical and it is important for them. So respect all these while you are there. You can involve respectfully in those function.   
    Take your guide with you in every hiking and climbing: our guide will be always with your while trekking every days. You are trekking and hiking in remote areas with maximum altitude. Few days in the itinerary are as acclimatization day and hiking around for recovering stamina. Take your guide with you in all these activities. It is Himalaya and do not be more exited, take advice from guide to take any decision.  
    Do not through foods after order: Foods are all carried by main cities. It takes a week time to reach all the foods in base camp site. It is not with any other transportation but carried by peoples or donkey.  It is important that you order only sufficient food which you can finish. Do not waste any foods in the region.    

    How to get Nepal Visa and its cost?
    Visa for Nepal is available on your arrival. 15 days Nepali visa is enough for your as your trip is only for 9 days including arrival departure days. USD 25 is the visa cost of 15 days. If you want to spend more than 15 days time, it is better to take a month visa which cost USD 40 per person. You only need your original passport and cash (any currency).    

    The trip is including 3 star category accommodations in main cities ie Kathmandu and Pokhara. During the trekking days, accommodation is in local tea houses. It has also option to upgrade accommodation to 4 or 5 star hotel in Pokhara and in Kathmandu. Or choose simple guest houses or hotel in those cities to make your cost down.  

    A professional trekking guide and porter from Nepal Highland Treks assist you in this entire trekking. Trekking guide and porter are not only guiding and carrying your loads but also helpful and your lifeguard in the Himalaya.   

    Any foreigners other than Indian and Nepali need visa for Nepal. It cost you USD 25 for 15 days and USD 40 for a month multiple visa. Visa can be issued on your arrival. You do not need any other documents accept your valid passport.
