Mera Peak lies in untouched remote Hinku valley in Everest region. Mera Peak summit of 6,461 miters provide some of the world’s incredible mountain views and remote valleys. The climbing program is not only for climbing but also trekking in one of the off the beaten trekking area of Nepal. The trekking trail cross frozen Lakes, hanging glaciers, stunning scene, beautiful forest, unique and rarely visited settlement of local peoples. We have enough days to acclimatize n the way before reaching at base camp of Meera Peak. This is peak is suitable for those who are beginners of climbing experience. 20 days Mera Peak climbing itinerary is including enough preparation time and historical sites exploration in Kathmandu.

We take a scenic Himalayan flight with tiny aircraft to Lukla. Hilary airport in Lukla is gateway of famous Everest region. We take different way to the east by leaving main Trekking route to Everest Base camp, Gokyo valley and Tengboche – Everest view Trekking. In our 18 days trekking and climbing days, 3 nights are staying in the tented camp and rest of other nights are in local tea houses. The best season for Mera peak climbing is in the month of March, April, May, September and October. As per our experience of climbing, enough acclimatization on the way, one day climbing course in Mera base camp are the keys to success.   • Day 01:Arrival at tribhuban international airport Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel and Overnight 1350m
  • Day 02:Half day cultural sightseeing in Kathmandu valley and trip preparation. Overnight at Hotel
  • Day 03:Fly to Lukla (2,860m - 35 minutes) Trek to Chutok (4 Hours - 2730m) overnight at local guest house
  • Day 04:Trek to Pangkongma (2,846m/ 5-6 hours) Overnight at local guest house
  • Day 05:Trek to Nashing Dingma (2,591m/ 4-5 hours) Overnight at local guest house
  • Day 06:Trek to Chhatra Khola (2,800m/7-8 hours) Overnight at local guest house
  • Day 07:Trek to Kothe (3,691m/ 6-7 hours) Overnight at local guest house

  • Day 01:Arrival at tribhuban international airport Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel and Overnight 1350m

    A representative from Nepal highland Treks pick up and transfer to hotel. Rest of the time rest and get fresh. You accommodation in Thamel which is center of City. Touristic place Thamel have goods restaurants as well as trekking equipment shops. 

  • Day 02:Half day cultural sightseeing in Kathmandu valley and trip preparation. Overnight at Hotel

    After breakfast in Hotel, our tour guide will lead you to cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu. Valley. we can cover one big Hindu temple Pashupatinath, one biggest Buddhist stupa Bauddhanath and Kathmandu Durbar squire, Old palace. Remaining time is to prepare your trip. Stay together with guide checking for necessary items to the trip. 

  • Day 03:Fly to Lukla (2,860m - 35 minutes) Trek to Chutok (4 Hours - 2730m) overnight at local guest house

    At early in the morning, fly with tiny aircraft to Hillary airport Lukla. It is the exciting flight to with panoramic mountains and scenic landscape. After small preparation of all bags and equipment, start to Chutok - a small local village with few tea houses.  

  • Day 04:Trek to Pangkongma (2,846m/ 5-6 hours) Overnight at local guest house

    Treking trail follow the route south over a river and traverse around the side of the hill and drop down into Khare Khola before turning east and gradually uphill to the town of Pangkongma. We will stay overnight at lodges own by local Sherpa homes. We will take a stroll up to the monastery nearby and walk around the local settlement. 

  • Day 05:Trek to Nashing Dingma (2,591m/ 4-5 hours) Overnight at local guest house

    Our first step of the trek today begin with steps ups till Pangkongma La pass (3,174m). Then we ascend, walk on a steady path, pass a mani and reach Shibuche. This place can be our suitable lunch stop. We continue our trek on a downhill path before crossing a bridge over the Hinku Khola. We pass through Gai Kharka or a grazing area and reach Nashing Dinga after a while. 

  • Day 06:Trek to Chhatra Khola (2,800m/7-8 hours) Overnight at local guest house

    It is first long days trekking today to Chhatra Khola from Nashing. We descend to Surkie La pass and cross it and continue walking downhill for a while. Then we begin ascending again. Trekking trail then passesPhokte Village, Chalem Kharka and Danda Kharka.  it is an uphill walk until we reach Panch Pokhari.  Next, we walk on a zigzagging path before reaching Chhatra Khola. 

  • Day 07:Trek to Kothe (3,691m/ 6-7 hours) Overnight at local guest house

    Trek today through Tuli Kharka up the beautiful Hinku Valley and also reach at Panch Pokhari view point. Our trail moves straight ahead towards Tashing Ongma which has seasonal tea shops. We continue our trek and cross the bridge over the Sanu Khola before reaching Kothe. The village is beautiful setting and one to be remembered. 

  • Day 08:Trek to Thaknak (4,358m/3-4 hours) Overnight at Guest House

    We trek along the ridge of the Hinku Khola in the shadow of Mera Peak.Our trekking trail pass a 200-year-old Lungsumgba Gompa where we can find Mera Peak scripted in rock along with its route to reach Mera. A short walk takes us to Thaknak, the place is Yak grazing area in summer season with ancient lodges and shops. 

  • Day 09:Trek to Khare (5,045m/2-3 hours) Overnight at Guest house

    It is short hiking today to reach Khare. By lunch time we reach and we will have time to hike around with the view of Mera Peak northern face.The trail climbs through moraines to the snout of the Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers, and then climbs more steeply to Khare. This is the last place here we stay at local tea house as accommodation. 

  • Day 10:Acclimatization and climbing training in Khare. Overnight at Guest house

    Today get full day at Khare. It is for acclimatization before starting Mera peak climbing. You will get hiking tour with your guide about 300 miters up. It is also day of setup you climbing equipment. Relax at guest houses after your Lunch

  • Day 11:Second day at Khare. Pre climbing training. overnight at guest house

    It is important to get well acclimatization and get pre-climbing training to get success summit. Our climbing guide will help us polish your basic climbing techniques and demonstrate the best ways to use our climbing gears like the ice-axe, harness, ascender climbing boots and crampons. The training will also include learning the best climbing technique with the rope.  

  • Day 12:Trek to Mera High Camp (5,780m/6-7 hours) Overnight at camp

    The first trekking part is easy. Trekking climb up to Mera La 5,400 miters through rocky way and climb up to the Mera Glacier is the tough section. The short descend from the glacier reach at Meera high camp, where we stay over night inside tent. We can view excellent views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, the south face of Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse   

  • Day 13:Summit Mera peak (6,461m) and back to Khare (5045m) 8-9 hours and overnight at guest house

    Start very early in the morning from campsite to get summit of Mera peak today. We usually start at 2 AM and estimate to reach 7 am to the top. Mera has 3 summits, our objective is to get up to highest. This short steep snow slope is easily climbed, but the last 30 miters requires a lot of effort. Get down to the high camp and rest for while. Further down to Khare and check in guest house. 

  • Day 14:Extra day for unforeseen event.

    Himalayas region do not have any certain and sure to get good and favorable weather. In case we are not able to climb Mera at our planned day, we take today as extra day to climb. If we get on time climb, we can reach at Kathmandu a day before which can be a rest day after long adventure.  

  • Day 15:Trek back to Kothe. Overnight at Guest house

    from Khare we trekking back via same way to Kothe through Tangnag village. 

  • Day 16:Trek to Chhatrabuk . Overnight at Guest house

    our trekking back towards Lukla take shorter way. We walk comparatively long way to get Chhatrabuk. The elevation of the place we spend a night is 4,300 miters. 

  • Day 17:Trek to Chhutanga. Overnight at guest house

    Trek back to Chhutanga through Zatrwa La pas of 4,600 miters. We are now nearer from Lukla. 

  • Day 18:Trek back to Lukla. Overnight at Guest house

    The final day of Trekking. It is short trekking today to reach Lukla. Prepare to fly back early in the morning tomorrow to Kathmandu. 

  • Day 19:Fly back to Kathmandu and rest. Overnight at Hotel

    Early in the morning 35 minutes flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel. Day can be used as walking around market. Evening farewell dinner with Nepal Highland team at cultural Nepali restaurant. 

  • Day 20:Departure

    Day of final departure. It is important to reach international airport 3 hours before from your original flight time. Our representative will assist you till the airport.
