    Simikot Limi valley is the remote section towards the north-west of Nepal. Limi's actual meaning is “Peoples who live in the River valley. The remote Limi valley of Nepal is the gateway to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. After 6 days trekking inside Limi valley reaches Tibet boarder, Hilsa. Valley is a unique Trans Himalaya area. The region is covered with show capped mountain peaks, longest River valley, variant wildlife, settlement of different cultures peoples, and ever-changing landscape. After taking 55 minutes flight to Simikot from Nepaljung, our trekking starts along Karnali Rivet bank. Entire trekking is a camping arrangement since local tea houses are not having developed properly yet.  

    First day land at Kathmandu Nepal, where you will get a chance to explore major historical monuments inside Kathmandu valley. It also has enough preparation time for the trip. Fly to Nepaljung and stay over at Hotel. Early morning flight to Simikot from Nepaljung is with tiny aircraft. Our trekking starts from here. Trekking is through authentic Tibetan settlement. It goes through an isolate high altitude landscape, which cross Nyalu La pass of 4,940 miters before reaching Tibetan boarder, Hilsa. Only a few tourist groups can find on the way. The first Tibetan town Taklakot is only short driving from Hilsa immigration. Ext day reach holy Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar from Taklakot. It is believed to wash every sin taking bath and deep at Mansarovar. Thousand of pilgrimages visit this lake and make Parikrama of Mount Kailash every year. The 3 days Kailash Parikrama or Kailash Kora is part of this trip. Highest pass Dolma La (5613m) is the tough Himalayan pass during Kailash Kora.

    Limi Valley Trekking is a hidden area of Humla before the Tibet border and explores peace mind Buddhist culture in nature is ultimate experiences. Ending of Simikot Limi Valley and Kailash Trekking have many options. Starts trip from Limi Valley, visit Kailash Mansarovar, drive to Lhasa, and continue either to Nepal or to mainland China from there. Or return again to Limi valley and trekking back to Nepal.     • Day 01:Arrival at Kathmandu. Hotel 1350m
    • Day 02:Trekking preparation, Tibet visa and fly to Nepaljung (55 minutes). Hotel 150m

      Nepal Highland Treks manage arrival from international airport and transfer to hotel in Thamel. Evening briefing about tour and overnight. We need to take your original passport and fill the form for Tibet visa.  

    • Day 02:Trekking preparation, Tibet visa and fly to Nepaljung (55 minutes). Hotel 150m

      It is the day of having half day sightseeing in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar squire and Swoyambhunath Stupa. Come back to Hotel for final preparation. About 2 pm we need to leave for domestic airport to fly Nepaljung. Transfer to hotel and overnight in Nepaljung.  

    • Day 03:Early in the morning, fly to Simikot and trek to Dharapori. Camp (foods: Breakfast in Hotel, Lunch and Dinner at Camp

      Very early in the morning, drive to Nepaljung airport and take flight to Simikot. It is 50 minutes flight with tiny aircraft. You immediately reach at altitude since your fly 150 miter and reach at 2985 miter. Start trekking along the Karnali River, inside jungle and local villages

    • Day 04:Trek to Kermi (2,860m - 6 Hours). Overnight at camp Camp

      Walking almost at flat land. Trekking begins along the Karnali River. Than local villages, local barley, potato and wheat land. There are hot spring one the way where we can spend a time to wash our body. Visit several Buddhist monastery too.  

    • Day 05:Trek to Yalbang (2,880 m - 6/7 Hours). Overnight at camp

      Trekking in flat land and uphill. Cross small high pass and walk down to River. Cross suspension bridge. The scenic forest and karnali River on the way in walking. Our visit at remote Namkha khyung Monastery.

    • Day 06:Trek to Tamkot 3,080m - 6 Hours. Overnight at camp

      Trekking train begins uphill and less vegetation. One the way visit several Tibetan monasteries. Karnali River view during walking is scenic today. 

    • Day 07:Trek to Yari 3,660m - 6 Hours. Overnight at camp

      Trekking is easy but reaching at less vegetation area without any big trees. Trail become rocky and quite. It can view some of the Tibetan village from high land as you are nearer from Nepal Tibet immigration. 

    • Day 08:Trek to Hilsa (4,630m - 6 Hours). Overnight at camp

      Trekking pass Nara La pass. Good view of Nara village and Tibet can seen from here. Train than descent to Hilsa. You can see lots of Indian pilgrimage drop by Helicopter for Kailash pilgrimage tour. We stay at camp.    

    • Day 09:Cross Tibet boarder and drive to Taklakot, further drive to Manasarovar (4450m). Guest House

      It is 20 minutes walking during crossing the Immigration at morning time.Cross Nepal Tibet Friendship Bridge and reach at Tibetan site. We meet your Tibetan guide and driver. Drive to Lake Manasarovar via Purang. View of Mount Kailash is clearly seen from the lodge we stay. Exploration Lake Manasarovar.   

    • Day 10:Explore Lake Mansarovar and around. Late afternoon drive to Darchen. overnight at guest house

      Morning explore Lake Mansarovar. Chui Gumba, Hot spring near by Lake Manasarovar is the possible sight trips. Late afternoon drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash from here we start our Kailash Kora. it is only 40 kilometer drive takes only one hour. You can walk around local market and peoples. Darchen is busy and second big town in Kailash region.  

    • Day 11:Drive to Tarboche valley, Explore and trek to Derapuk (6 Hours - 4900m) Overnight at guest house

      It is short drive further to Tarboche valley from Darchen. it is also called valley of God or Wisak valley. Explore Tarboche valley and start trekking to Derapuk. This place is North Face of Mount Kailash. We will see nice view of Kailash with sunshine. 

    • Day 12:Trek to Juthulpuk (8 Hours - 4,790m) via Dolma La pass (5613m) Overnight at Guest house

      It is quite long day and hardest part of the trip. We start earlier to trek. All the way uphill for about 3 hours to reach at Dolma La pass (5,613 miters) and descent. Different faces of maout kailash can see from on the way. Gauri Kunda, a holy small kunda with several other water ponds can see

    • Day 13:Trek up to near darchen and drive to Saga (8 Hours - 4,450m). Overnight at guest house

      Morning exploration of Juthulpuk monastery. It is easy walking abour 3 hours to reach Darchen. Our driving crew will wait at and drive to Saga. Saga is the Tibetan town having more facilities than in Kailash region.

    • Day 14:Drive to Shigatse (6 Hours - 3900m) Overnight at Hotel

      It is whole way driving toward second city of Tibet Shigatse. Driving contain high passes of about 5000 miters. Himalayan views and beautiful lakes. We will get nice hotel to stay tonight

    • Day 15:Drive to Lhasa (7 Hours - 3,656m) Overnight at Hotel

      We explore Tashilampo Monastery in Shigatse and dtart driving to Lhasa. It is science views from driving. Local villages, Tibetan plateau, Himalayas and Lakes. Reach at another historical city Lhasa and overnight at hotel.   

    • Day 16:Sightseeing in Lhasa. Overnight at Hotel

      After breakfast, start sightseeing Lhasa. Jokhang temple, Sera and Drepung Monastery. You will see activities of local monks in those monastery and good historical monuments. Late afternoon finish the sightseeing and walking around the city. 

    • Day 17:Second day of sightseeing in Lhasa. Overnight at Hotel

      After your breakfast in Hotel, start sightseeing in Potala Palace, Norbulinka palace. Both palaces are belong to Dalai Lama. And another visit at Barkhor squire, a oldest town of Lhasa. Free after late afternoon

    • Day 18:Departure from Lhasa, Either to take train or flight to Mainland China or fly back to Kathmandu

      End of your trip. It is option to take flight to mainland china or to Kathmandu Nepal. OR take train to China.

    Our departure date of September is 19 days tour. One extra day spend in Kailash region at Northface of Kailash. The service and accommdoation facilities are standard type of as per our itienrary. 

    Useful Information

    Simikot Limi Valley Kailash Trekking itinerary can be customizing as per clients interest and as per their time frame. It has many options.

    Option 01: Same as our itinerary, Enter from Limi valley and end your tour at Lhasa after visiting Mount Kailash and Mansarovar
    Option 02: Enter from Limi valley, visit Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar and return same way back.
    Option 03: Enter from Lhasa, come via Simikot Limi valley after visiting Kailash Mansarovar.
    Option 4: Enter from Simikot Limi valley, visit Kailash Mansarovar and drive to Nepal via friendship bridge Kodari.
    Option 5: Enter from friendship bridge Kodari, Visit Kailash and return to Nepal via Simikot Limi valley by trekking. 

    Accommodation: Day 01 and Day 2 at Kathmandu Nepaljung is in hotel where we provide twin sharing 3 star category hotel with breakfast. 6 Nights accommodation from Day 3 to day 8 is in twin sharing tents carry by Nepal Highland Treks. Kailash region from day 9 to Day 12 is in simple and basic guest houses. Tibet Kathmandu from Day 13 to day 17 is in 3 star category hotel on twin sharing with breakfast.   

    Foods: Foods in this trip is different services. Breakfast in same hotel in Kathmandu, Nepaljung and in Tibet. 6 days camping trek in Nepal is full board foods (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) provided from Nepali staff from our own kitchen. In Kailash region from Day 9 to 12, foods are not including in the package. You will have choices foods from local restaurants and guest houses. Restaurants in this area are very simple. Only Tibetan and Chinese style foods are available. 

    Shower/ Bath: There are bathing tent fixed by our staffs during 6 days trekking in Nepal. Kailash region is also not comfortable to take bath. In Manasarovar we will fix the tent for bathing with holy water. Rest of the other places have attached bath inside your rooms. 

    Equipment list: You do not need to bring whole equipments from your home country. Good trekking equipments with reasonable cost are available in Kathmandu. We can suggest you to buy those after we check it in hotel before starting of trekking. Representative from Nepal Highland Treks or your guide can provide you good suggestion. Our itinerary has enough time to be prepared with your proper equipment.
