Tilicho Lake is situated in the Annapurna Himalayas range with an elevation of 4,949 and is known as the highest lake in the world. Tilicho Lake Trekking became a popular trekking destination at the Annapurna Circuit region that includes the highest pass Thorong La. Entire trips have local tea houses as accommodation and food since a new but basic guest house has been built at Tilicho Base Camp too. The final approach to Tilicho Lake is done by day hiking from Tilicho Base Camp. Lake is surrounded by Tilicho Mountain, Nilgiri, Khangsar, and Muktinath Peak.
Trekking starts from Besisahar and reaches Manang Valley via the Marshyangdi River bank. The trail is scenic views of the Himalayas, variant landscape, peoples, and their typical cultures. Reach Nepal's last village, Khangsar village which is typical of Tibetan style. After exploring Tilicho Lake and its surroundings, cross Thorong La passes to reach Kali Gandaki River valley. Visit Muktinath, an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. Trekking end at Jomsom, and from there, take 15 minutes flight to Pokhara.
