Restricted Trekking Area in Nepal

There is some trekking region which is strictly controlling to enter international tourist by Government of Nepal. There is certain rule and regulation for operating trekking in those restricted area of Nepal. Most of the restricted region lies behind the rain shadow area of Himalayas. Few trekkers visit area every year. Registered trekking companies are only allowed to run trekking in these areas so that every tourist has to get connection with registered trekking companies of Nepal. Trekking companies make special permit through Government of Nepal, Department of Immigration. There should be minimum 2 pax to operate trekking.

Most of restricted trekking area is organized based trekking. Tents for sleeping and all the foods have to supply from main cities. Government approved license holder guide should present in every checking point. Supporters carry all foods and necessary goods during trekking. Some of restricted trekking areas have built basic accommodation and restaurants to provide foods. Upper Mustang, Manaslu and Tsum valley are settled with basic tea houses. Rest of, Upper Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, Rara Lake, Dhaulagiri, Makalu and Simikot Limi valley still have to do with organized trekking. Those trekking areas are less crowded.
