  • incredible Itinerary of Tibet Group Tour

Hi Hemanta ! Our trip in Tibet was so beautiful. Special mention to our tibetan guide, Betun. She’s a fantastic professional and human being. She has changed the guest house in Tingri for a hotel. The Tingri guest house is in fact unusable due to the cold and extremely precarious conditions. However the itinerary was incredible.  Many thanks to you and Ram for this wonderful experience. Best regards, Mario

  • One Day Lumbini Tour from Kathmandu

It was my immediate plan. Was looking for a tour and wanted to be Buddha place. Found Nepal Highland treks in internet. They are very fast in reply and have complete itinerary in their web about Lumbini visit. Single day plan was worth to start from Kathmandu after my breakfast and return to Kathmandu evening before dinner. They take care my all arrival and departure nicely. Guide in Lumbini was informatics and looks professional. I took tuktuk riding tour inside Lumbini Garden as a man from company suggest me before my flight there which does not cost me more. Visiting places there was quite big with lovely monasteries makes 4/5 hours busy, decorative and clean area accept dirt and bumpy road from Airport to Lumbini.

I booked and did a day tour to Lumbini on 9th December 2018. It was my big chance to visit this blessed place within by short time. Nepal Highland Treks organized it in very well way. Picked me on time from my hotel, Guide was helpful and experience in Lumbini. I got enough time to visit the place even though my flight got 3 hours delay from Kathmandu. Thank you for trusting me as well. I was not paying advance amount to these guy but they bought air ticket and manages all other arrangement an advance.

  • We organised our Everest Base Camp Riding

It was our respect to Hemanta and his team to manage every things on time even though got lots of trouble getting permits due to last hours rules change from Tibet government. We mixed nationalities peoples were able to get every things on hand to ride our bikes till Everest Base camp Tibet. We were riding our own bikes riding further to Tibet and Everest Base Camp. First day route is bit challenging. Rough and narrow road in Nepal side makes us almost impossible to ride further. But enjoyment ws there with scenic landscape, local villages and peoples. From the second day when we cross the immigration and reach at Tibet part, riding bikes were easier in wide highway. Tibet guide and our backup van driver were so helpful and funny. We spend 7 night all together by sharing information about Tibet and peoples. Guide Nima was so informatics. We have heard Guide there will be only for government formalities not to expect much info about Tibet from them, but we were lucky to get informatics, helpful and smiley guide. Our driver was also technical one who help us a lot when we get to maintain our bikes on the way.

Accommodation we choose before as budget guest houses were uncomfortable when we reach there so that we upgrade it to the best available in the town. We paid more but company refund us budget hotels cost we paid before. It is suggest to choose best available guest houses on the way so that you can take hot shower sometime you feel.  Near the base camp no choices, only simple rooms sharing toilet outside without and bathing facilities. We were all gotten briefing about the tour by company owner Hemanta not to expect more facilities in Tibet but we were so much happy to get more than expected. Thanks again Nepal Highland Treks, owner of the company Hemanta and his team. We look forward to get another chance to plan trip in Nepal or again to Tibet including Lhasa or may be toward Kailash too.

  • From Kathmandu to Kailash, Manasarovar and Guge Kingdom

Mount Kailash and Guge is a trip I dreamt of, for a whole life and Nepal Highland Treks made it come true. The tour started 18th aug and finished 5th sep. We had 6 full days (5 at the start and 1 at the end) in Kathmandu including a guided tour with english speaking guide and driver to the main local spots. Waiting to leave for Kailash we also visited Kathmandu valley and walked to other capital city's attractions. Driving from Kathmandu to Tibet during rain season at the end of august can be difficult because of landslides, floods and terrible road conditions. Get ready to make a "bumpy" ride in your car for hours and to cross active landslides by foot while another vehicle and driver awaits on the other side. Adventurous and a bit dangerous! You'll need to cross Nepal-China border by foot for 1,5 km with your bags (unless you pay a porter). After we passed the border we met with a tibetan guide and driver from a partnder tibetan travel agency: the amazing duo proved to be very professional, positive, lively, kind, caring and also guide Pema is good in english. Always save some money for a good tip!
Kailash Kora and Manasarovar were unique experiences and also Guge Kingdom is worth all the kms you'll have to drive: Tsaparang frescoes are amazing! When in remote places like lake and mountains all the accomodation will be poor or simple while for the rest of the tour we always had a good hotel or guesthouse: the guide gave committment to provide us the best even when huge groups of indians were taking every available bed. Trekking is quite hard but rewarding, maybe the worst part of a trip like this is to stay in car for hours. All the vehicles we used were very comfortable and also food is very good, fresh and tasty (nepalese in Kathmandu, chinese or tibetan dishes in Tibet). Food is an extra cost you'll have to pay except breakfast which is included every day. Expect to spend from 10-15 $ a day. I suggest you to use various layers of technical clothes and to make use of Diamox or other diuretics starting to take 2 pills/day 2 days before going to a higher altitude. You can empower it with Ginco Biloba pills. You'll need to drink a lot, to eat good food and don't strain your body.
Hemanta, agency boss, is always nice, kind and very present. I strongly recommend this agency for your travels
